Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has clarified that the 400 acres located in Gachibowli are not owned by Hyderabad Central University (HCU).

In response to the ongoing dispute regarding the land, he asserted that HCU has no claim to it. He explained that approximately 25 years ago, the State government allocated the land to an individual named Billy Rao and his organisation, and HCU has not possessed the land since that time. In 2006, the Congress government revoked the land allotment, leading to a prolonged legal battle.

Revanth Reddy noted that the BRS government did not attempt to reclaim the land over the past decade since the establishment of Telangana State. He mentioned that once the Congress party regained power, the State government pursued the matter in the Supreme Court, successfully winning the case and regaining ownership of the land.

He further claimed that the Opposition is hindering the government's efforts to secure land for the state's development.

"Some 'land sharks' have occupied the land. Government will teach a lesson to the land grabbers. It has proposed to sell the land through an open auction to the international organisations. We are planning to invite global investors through expansion," Revanth Reddy said.

"Asking Harish Rao directly. Should a Regional Ring Road be built or not? Should radial roads be built or not? Should land be acquired for development or not? Should Future City be developed or not?" he questioned.

The Chief Minister further stated that the State government will not tolerate the opposition conspiracies by using the microphone in the Assembly. He appealed to the opposition to stop obstructing the development and land acquisition.

"Make suggestions on compensation. It is being given from the State exchequer and not from anyone's pocket. It was the opposition who encouraged some leaders to file cases on Mallanna Sagar and Palamuru Rangareddy project and those leaders also joined the same party," the Chief Minister said.
